Vlad holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Musculoskeletal Therapy/ Clinical Myotherapy from Endeavour College of Natural Health in Melbourne.
Vlad’s fascination with the body and movement came as a result of extensive practice of Ashtanga Yoga both in Melbourne and in Mysore, India, over the last seven years. Practicing yoga allowed him to start taking notice of how his posture and many of his habitual movements resulted in dysfunctional holding patterns, creating tension and pain. This ignited an interest into the nature of pain, biomechanics and questions surrounding functional movement. As a result, Vlad’s treatment approach aims to view the body as a whole integrated system engaging a wider perspective when investigating potential causative factors in relation to pain and dysfunction. His use of therapeutic techniques considers both evidenced-based practice as well as the subtleties of posture and function e.g. how breathing patterns may affect pelvic movement.
When in Mysore, Vlad continues to work closely with his mentor KRI Jagdish as part of a charitable clinic that treats a wide range of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions in the local population. Having been influenced by so many people actively working to help improve the quality of life of the communities around them, Vlad is inspired to contribute to this work and to continue to learn and inspire others.
